ASICS Gel-Contend 9 Trainers - Black/White - UK 9

The standard fit is designed for average foot widths. While the engineered mesh offers some flexibility, individuals with significantly wide feet may find them restrictive. It is recommended to try them on or check for available wide-fit versions if applicable.

These shoes are ideal for neutral runners who require good cushioning for everyday training, park runs, and treadmill sessions. If you overpronate (your foot rolls inward excessively), you might need a stability shoe. Consulting a running specialist can help determine your gait.

Yes, the Gel-Contend 9 can be used for various gym activities, including cardio machines and light weight training, due to their cushioning and stable base. However, for heavy lifting, a shoe with a flatter, more rigid sole might be preferable.

The Gel-Contend series is designed for entry-level to moderate mileage runners seeking comfort and cushioning for daily training. Series like Gel-Kayano or GT-2000 are typically stability shoes designed for overpronators, offering more structured support and motion control.

The longevity of the cushioning depends on factors like mileage, body weight, and running surface. On average, the cushioning in ASICS trainers is optimized for around 300-500 miles of running before significant degradation occurs.

No, the ASICS Gel-Contend 9 are not waterproof. They feature breathable mesh uppers designed for ventilation, which allows water to penetrate. For wet conditions, waterproof running shoes or gaiters would be more appropriate.

Ensure laces are not overtightened. Try loosening them and re-tying. If the issue persists, verify you have the correct size and consider using thinner socks.

Check for any debris inside the shoe. Ensure the shoes are properly broken in. If discomfort continues, they may not be the right fit for your foot type or running style.

The cushioning is designed for durability, but prolonged heavy use will naturally reduce its responsiveness. Consider replacing the shoes after significant mileage (typically 300-500 miles).

The outsole provides traction for general use. For very wet or slippery conditions, exercise caution as specialized shoes may offer better grip.
