Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Before the first use, it is essential to sterilize these glass jam jars. This can be done by washing them thoroughly in hot, soapy water, rinsing, and then placing them in a preheated oven at approximately 160°C (320°F) for 15-20 minutes, or by immersing them in boiling water for 10 minutes. Ensure the lids are also cleaned but avoid boiling them for extended periods as this may damage the seal.
Compatibility:
These jars are designed for use with their accompanying Silver metal screw-top lids, which create an airtight seal. They are compatible with a wide range of foodstuffs including jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, chutneys, sauces, oils, and spices.
Care:
Hand wash the jars and lids with warm, soapy water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can scratch the glass. While the glass jars are generally dishwasher safe, it is recommended to hand wash to preserve their clarity and prevent potential damage. Ensure jars and lids are completely dry before storing or filling.
