Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Torhill Hi boots are ready to wear right out of the box. Simply lace them up to your preferred snugness. The lace-up design allows for a custom fit, ensuring your foot is secure and comfortable. For first-time wear, it's recommended to wear them for shorter periods to allow the suede and sole to naturally adapt to your foot's shape.
Compatibility
These versatile ankle boots complement a wide range of casual and smart-casual attire. They pair exceptionally well with:
- Jeans: From slim-fit to straight-leg, they add a touch of sophistication.
- Chinos: Create a polished yet relaxed look.
- Corduroy Trousers: Enhance the heritage aesthetic.
- Casual Shirts and Knitwear: Perfect for layering during cooler weather.
Care Instructions for Suede
The premium suede of your Torhill Hi boots requires specific care to keep them looking their best:
- Protection: Before first wear, and periodically thereafter, apply a high-quality suede protector spray. This creates a barrier against water and stains.
- Cleaning: For surface dirt and dust, gently brush the suede with a suede brush (often with both wire and rubber bristles). Brush in one direction to maintain the nap.
- Spot Cleaning: For tougher marks, use a suede eraser to gently rub away blemishes. Follow up with the suede brush.
- Wet Conditions: Avoid wearing suede boots in heavy rain or wet conditions. If they do get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and let them air dry naturally away from direct heat.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
Do NOT use water or harsh chemical cleaners directly on suede, and never use standard shoe polish.
