Full details

The Clarks Torhill Moss shoe is designed for individuals who appreciate a blend of heritage-inspired aesthetics and modern everyday comfort. Ideal for casual weekends, urban commuting, or relaxed office settings, this model offers a distinct '90s-inspired silhouette that pairs seamlessly with diverse wardrobes ranging from jeans to midi skirts. While its bold, ribbed outsole provides a unique look and reliable grip, potential buyers should note that the chunky sole profile is a style-specific choice that may not suit those looking for a minimalist or low-profile footwear aesthetic.

FAQs

Are the footbeds in the Torhill Moss removable?

Yes, the Contour Cushion footbed is removable, which allows for cleaning or the use of custom orthotic inserts.

What should I wear with the Torhill Moss?

These shoes are highly versatile and work well with jeans, chinos, or midi skirts for a balanced casual look.

How do I clean the upper material?

Depending on the specific material finish, use a leather conditioner or a suede-specific brush to maintain the texture.

Is this shoe suitable for long-distance walking?

While intended for everyday city wear and casual use, the ergonomic footbed offers great support for all-day comfort.

Where does the design inspiration come from?

The design is a tribute to the '90s 'Big Gripper' and the timeless curves of the classic Wallabee.

Troubleshooting

Footbed feels loose or shifts while walking

Ensure the footbed is correctly aligned with the heel cup and pressed firmly into the base of the shoe.

Accumulation of dirt in the ribbed outsole

Use a specialized rubber cleaning brush or a soft toothbrush to gently dislodge debris from between the ribs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Distinctive '90s aesthetic provides a unique fashion statement
  • Removable footbed allows for easy cleaning or insertion of custom orthotics
  • Contour Cushion technology ensures all-day support
  • High-quality construction ensures lasting wear
  • Versatile design coordinates well with various clothing styles

Cons

  • The chunky ribbed outsole may be too bold for minimalist style preferences
  • Requires a break-in period common with high-quality leather construction
  • Heavier feel compared to lightweight modern sneakers

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Clarks Torhill Moss shoes maintain their appearance and structure, follow these recommendations:

  1. Initial Break-in: Wear them for short durations indoors to allow the materials to mold to your feet.
  2. Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dirt from the suede or leather upper. For the ribbed outsole, a damp cloth is usually sufficient to clear debris from the grooves.
  3. Footbed Maintenance: Since the Contour Cushion footbed is removable, take it out occasionally to air it out or replace it if it shows signs of excessive wear.
  4. Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent material fading or cracking.
