The adidas Originals Handball Spezial trainers are a heritage-inspired footwear choice designed for active infants and children who need a blend of classic style and reliable daily performance. Originally engineered for elite athletes in 1979, these low-top trainers provide excellent support for playtime, though the premium suede construction requires extra care to maintain its appearance against harsh outdoor elements.

No, machine washing is not recommended as it will damage the suede material and affect the structure of the shoe.
This specific size is designed for infants and children.
While they are comfortable for general play and walking, they are classified as casual lifestyle trainers rather than dedicated running shoes.
Apply a water-repellent spray designed specifically for suede before the first use and reapply periodically.
The Handball Spezial generally follows standard adidas sizing, but it is always recommended to measure your child's feet as fit can vary between models.
The insoles are generally fitted to the shoe's construction, and removing them may impact the intended fit and comfort.
Use a specialized suede brush to gently restore the nap of the material by brushing in one direction.
Double-knot the laces or swap them for slightly textured laces that provide more grip.
Use a white pencil eraser or a damp cloth with mild soap to spot-clean the rubber edges.
Getting the most out of your Handball Spezial trainers starts with a proper fit. Ensure the laces are tightened firmly but not restricted to support the arch of your child's foot. For care, avoid machine washing these trainers, as water and heat can damage the suede texture. Instead, use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove dry dirt or dust from the surface. For deeper cleaning, utilize a specialized suede cleaner and protector spray to keep the red colour vibrant and prevent moisture absorption. If the shoes become damp, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause the material to stiffen or shrink.
