Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Loosen the laces sufficiently before putting on the boots. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is firmly seated at the back of the boot.
- Tightening: Begin tightening the laces from the bottom (toes) upwards. Pull evenly to ensure a snug but comfortable fit across the midfoot, utilizing the supportive tape for optimal lockdown. Avoid overtightening, which can restrict circulation.
- Initial Wear: For the first few uses, wear the boots for shorter periods during practice sessions to allow them to mold to your feet and minimize discomfort.
Compatibility
These Puma Future 8 Match Brilliance boots feature an FG/AG soleplate, making them suitable for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm and dry.
- Artificial Ground (AG): Modern synthetic turf pitches.
Important: Using FG/AG boots on unsuitable surfaces (e.g., very soft, wet, muddy natural grass, or hard, abrasive street surfaces) can lead to accelerated wear, reduced performance, and potential injury. Always match your boots to the playing surface.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off dirt and debris with a damp cloth. For tougher mud, use a soft brush. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the upper materials or finishes like GripControl.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight, tumble dryers) as this can cause materials to crack, shrink, or deform.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using boot trees or stuffing with newspaper to help maintain their shape.
- Odour Control: If needed, use boot deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside the boots overnight to absorb moisture and odors.
