Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: While the boots can be worn without laces, for optimal lockdown and support, thread the laces through all eyelets and tie them securely. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find the fit that feels most comfortable and supportive for your foot shape.
- Initial Wear: Wear the boots for short periods during light training sessions to allow them to adapt to your foot's unique contours. This helps prevent discomfort during your first match.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm and dry.
- Artificial Ground (AG): Modern artificial turf surfaces.
Avoid using these boots on very soft, muddy natural grass or hard, abrasive surfaces like concrete, as this can damage the studs and soleplate, and reduce performance.
Care
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning after Use: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud by gently tapping the boots together. Use a soft brush (a dedicated boot brush or old toothbrush works well) to clean studs and grooves.
- Wiping Down: Wipe the upper with a damp cloth to remove any remaining dirt. For tougher stains, use a mild soap solution, then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators, hairdryers, or direct sunlight, as this can cause materials to shrink, crack, or become stiff.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. You can stuff them with crumpled newspaper to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash or tumble dry your football boots, as this can cause irreparable damage to the materials and construction.
