Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
Upon receiving your Birkenstock Boston Mules, take a moment to adjust the strap.
- Loosen the buckle: Gently pull the strap through the buckle.
- Slide your foot in: Ensure your heel sits comfortably in the heel cup and your toes are not touching the front edge of the footbed.
- Tighten the strap: Adjust the strap so it's snug, but not constricting. You should be able to slide a finger easily underneath the strap. The goal is to keep your foot secure without restricting natural movement.
Compatibility
The Birkenstock Boston Mules are designed for casual, everyday use. They are suitable for various indoor and outdoor environments, but are not intended for heavy-duty sports, extensive hiking, or prolonged exposure to wet conditions. Their unisex design and classic aesthetic make them compatible with a wide range of personal styles.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and maintains the appearance of your oiled leather Birkenstock Boston Mules.
- Cleaning Leather Uppers: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning or to refresh the oiled leather, use a specialized leather conditioner or oil. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive scrubbing.
- Footbed Care: The cork-latex footbed can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Allow to air dry completely away from direct heat. Avoid fully submerging the footbed in water.
- Sole Unit: The EVA sole unit is durable but can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
- Storage: Store your Mules in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent drying or cracking of the leather and footbed.
