Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & Application
- Preparation: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, algae, mold, or loose paint. Brush off any loose material. For best results, use a stiff brush or appropriate cleaner.
- Stirring: Thoroughly stir the paint before and during use to ensure even colour distribution.
- Application Method: The paint can be applied by brush or spray. For brush application, use a good quality exterior wood brush, applying evenly along the grain. For spray application, dilute according to the spray gun manufacturer's instructions, then apply an even coat.
- Drying Time: While designed for one coat, allow adequate drying time between coats if a second coat is desired for very porous wood or a deeper colour. Refer to the product label for specific drying times, which can vary with temperature and humidity.
- Clean Up: Clean brushes and equipment with water immediately after use.
Compatibility
This product is specifically formulated for outdoor wooden sheds and fences. While it provides excellent protection for these structures, its compatibility with other wood types or surfaces (e.g., decking, garden furniture) may vary and is not explicitly guaranteed for optimal performance.
Care
- Regular Cleaning: To maintain the appearance, periodically clean the painted surfaces with a soft brush and water to remove dirt and debris.
- Inspection: Annually inspect your sheds and fences for any signs of wear or damage to the paint, especially in high-exposure areas.
- Reapplication: Reapply the Ronseal One Coat Shed & Fence Protector every two years, or sooner if signs of wear become apparent, to ensure continuous protection.
