Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your adidas F50 Elite FG boots deliver optimal performance and last longer.
Initial Setup
- Choose Your Sockliner: Your F50 Elite boots come with two sockliner options. Before your first use, decide which one suits your playstyle best:
- SL (SuperLight) Sockliner: Opt for this if you prioritize a barefoot-like feel, maximum responsiveness, and pure speed.
- Comfort Sockliner: Choose this for enhanced cushioning, better impact absorption, and additional comfort, especially for longer training sessions or matches.
- Lacing for Lockdown: Ensure the laces are securely tied to activate the Compression Fit Tunnel Tongue. This provides the superior lockdown necessary for stability during rapid movements. Experiment with lacing tension to find the most comfortable and secure fit for your foot.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: The adidas F50 Elite FG boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This means natural grass fields that are dry or slightly damp. Using them on artificial grass (AG), turf (TF), or indoor (IN) surfaces is not recommended as it can prematurely wear down the studs and potentially void your warranty. Using the correct soleplate for the correct surface is crucial for both performance and safety.
Product Care
- Post-Match Cleaning: After every use, gently knock the boots together to remove excess mud and debris. Use a soft brush (like a toothbrush) to clean dirt from around the studs and soleplate.
- Wipe Down: For the upper, wipe the boots with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a small amount of mild soap (e.g., dish soap diluted in water) on the cloth, then wipe clean with a fresh damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Never place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. A boot bag can help protect them when transporting.
- Soleplate Lacquer: Please note that the lacquer finish on the bottom of the boot (soleplate) is designed to wear off during play. This is a normal cosmetic occurrence and does not affect the performance or durability of the product.
