Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove your new Puma King Match boots from their packaging.
- Initial Fit: Slip your feet into the boots. The low-cut slip-on design means you simply slide your foot in. Ensure your heel is comfortably seated and your toes have enough room without excessive movement.
- Break-in (Optional): While designed for immediate comfort, some players prefer a short break-in period. Begin by wearing them for lighter training sessions before full matches to allow the materials to fully adapt to your foot.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This includes natural grass surfaces that are typically dry and firm. Using them on artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or very hard ground may:
- Reduce their effectiveness and grip.
- Cause premature wear to the studs and outsole.
- Potentially increase the risk of injury.
Care
- Cleaning After Use:
- Remove Loose Dirt: Use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) to gently brush off any mud or dirt from the upper, outsole, and between the studs.
- Wipe Clean: Use a damp cloth with a mild soap solution to wipe down the synthetic upper. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.
- Rinse Studs: You can lightly rinse the outsole and studs under a tap to remove stubborn dirt, but avoid saturating the entire boot.
- Drying:
- Air Dry: Always allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid Direct Heat: Do not place them on radiators, in direct sunlight, or use a hairdryer, as extreme heat can damage the synthetic materials and glues.
- Stuff with Newspaper: To help absorb internal moisture and maintain the boot's shape, you can loosely stuff the boots with newspaper.
- Storage:
- Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Consider using a boot bag to protect them from scratches and keep them clean during transport.
