Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup and Surface Preparation
For optimal one-coat coverage, proper preparation is key:
- Clean Surfaces: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, grease, or loose flaking paint. Use a mild detergent if necessary, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
- Fill & Sand: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
- Prime (Optional but Recommended for Specific Cases): While this paint is designed for one coat, very porous surfaces, bare wood, or surfaces previously painted with a very dark or glossy finish may benefit from a suitable primer. This will help achieve the best finish and true color with a single application.
- Masking: Use painter's tape to mask off skirting boards, door frames, and ceiling edges to ensure clean lines.
- Stir Well: Before and during use, stir the paint thoroughly to ensure an even consistency and color.
Application
Apply using a good quality brush or roller. Load your brush/roller evenly and apply in smooth, even strokes. Avoid overworking the paint. For best results with a roller, apply in a "W" pattern and then fill it in.
Compatibility
This paint is compatible with a wide range of interior surfaces, including:
- Walls (plaster, plasterboard)
- Ceilings
- Wood (e.g., skirting boards, door frames, furniture)
- Previously painted surfaces (ensure they are clean, sound, and lightly sanded if glossy)
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning Tools: Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with warm, soapy water.
- Drying Time: Allow adequate drying time as specified on the can before light use or cleaning.
- Cleaning Painted Surfaces: For light marks or stains, gently wipe the painted surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild non-abrasive soap. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the matt finish.
- Storage: Store the paint in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed.
