Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sizing and Initial Wear
- Sizing: UGG boots are known to conform to your feet over time. For the best fit, refer to the official UGG size guide. If you are between sizes, consider trying both options.
- First Wear: For optimal comfort as the shearling adapts, consider wearing with thin socks initially. Many users eventually enjoy wearing UGGs barefoot for direct contact with the plush lining.
Material Compatibility and Protection
- Suede Upper: The premium suede requires specific care. It is highly susceptible to water and stains.
- Protection: Before your first wear and periodically thereafter, crucially apply a high-quality water and stain repellent spray specifically formulated for suede and sheepskin. This step is vital for protecting your boots from moisture and marks.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Follow these steps to clean your UGG Classic Ultra Mini Platform Boots:
- Remove Loose Dirt: Gently brush off any surface dirt or dust using a soft suede brush.
- Dampen Boots: Lightly and evenly dampen the entire surface of the boots with clean, cold water. Avoid oversaturating.
- Apply Cleaner: Apply a small amount of a specialized UGG Cleaner & Conditioner (or a similar suede cleaner) to a clean, damp sponge or soft cloth.
- Gentle Scrub: Gently and evenly scrub the entire surface of the boot to clean. Do not rub too hard in one spot.
- Rinse Cleaner: Rinse your sponge or cloth thoroughly and use it to wipe away excess cleaner from the boots, again, evenly.
- Maintain Shape: Stuff the boots with paper (like newspaper, but avoid ink-transferring types) to help them retain their original shape as they dry.
- Air Dry: Allow the boots to air dry naturally and completely in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct heat or sunlight. Drying can take up to 24 hours.
- Restore Nap: Once completely dry, gently brush the suede with a suede brush to restore the nap and texture.
Storage
- Conditions: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Shape Preservation: Use boot shapers or stuff them with acid-free tissue paper to help maintain their silhouette during storage.
