Johnstone's Silk Emulsion Paint is ideal for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts looking to revitalize interior walls and ceilings with a sophisticated, high-sheen finish. Its primary benefit is a highly durable and scrub-resistant surface that reflects light to brighten rooms, though users should be aware that the high-sheen finish may highlight imperfections in wall surfaces compared to matte alternatives.

While it is durable, this paint is designed for general interior walls and ceilings. Check if your specific environment requires a dedicated anti-mould kitchen or bathroom paint.
The formula is quick-drying, but for the best finish, allow the manufacturer's recommended time between coats, typically a few hours.
On previously painted surfaces that are in good condition, a primer is often not required. For raw plaster or highly porous surfaces, a mist coat or primer is recommended.
Since it is a standard emulsion, most brushes and rollers can be cleaned using warm soapy water while the paint is still wet.
No, this product is strictly for interior walls and ceilings.
It is not recommended to mix different brands or types of paint as this can negatively impact the chemical composition and finish.
Ensure you are using a high-quality synthetic brush and avoid over-working the paint once it begins to set.
Silk finishes reflect light; sand the wall smooth and fill any gouges or dents before applying a fresh coat.
Ensure the surface was primed if moving from a very dark color to a light one, and verify you are applying the recommended number of coats.
Before painting, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose paint or dust. For best results, use a high-quality roller or brush to avoid streaks.
Compatibility: This paint is designed specifically for interior walls and ceilings. It is compatible with most standard interior primers, though you should always test a small, inconspicuous area first if applying over existing oil-based paints.
Care: Once cured, the paint can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners that could dull the sheen over time.
