Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use and Setup
When you first receive your Phantom GX II Elite FG boots, it's recommended to wear them for a few short sessions before a full match. This allows the materials, especially the Flyknit collar and upper, to adapt to your foot shape, ensuring maximum comfort and performance. Ensure laces are tied securely but not overly tight to avoid restricting blood flow or creating pressure points.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means they are optimal for use on natural grass pitches that are firm and not waterlogged. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or very hard ground can damage the soleplate and studs, void the warranty, and potentially lead to injury due to inappropriate traction.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Remove excess mud and dirt immediately after playing. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe down the upper and soleplate.
- Rinse Gently: If necessary, lightly rinse the boots with water, but avoid fully submerging them or using harsh detergents.
- Air Dry: Always allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as extreme heat can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Stuff for Shape: Stuff the boots with newspaper or a shoe tree while drying to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Proper Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. A boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash your football boots, as this can severely damage the construction and materials.
