Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting the most out of your Nike Premier 3 boots involves proper setup, understanding their compatibility, and consistent care.
Setup
- Unboxing: Remove boots from packaging. Inspect for any manufacturing defects.
- Lacing: Fully loosen the laces. Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is firmly seated at the back of the boot.
- Tightening: Begin tightening the laces from the bottom of the boot upwards, ensuring an even, snug fit across your foot without being overly tight.
- Tongue Adjustment: Ensure the fold-over tongue is positioned correctly and secured if it has a hook-and-loop closure (though Premier 3 typically just folds down).
- First Wear: It is recommended to wear your new boots for a few short training sessions before a full match to allow the leather to break-in and mold to your foot shape.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are designed exclusively for Firm Ground (FG). This means natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp.
- Avoid: Do NOT use these boots on Artificial Ground (AG), Soft Ground (SG), or Indoor/Court (IC) surfaces. Using them on unsuitable surfaces can lead to premature wear of the studs, reduced performance, and potential injury.
- Gender/Age: Designed for adult males, but fit can vary based on individual foot shape.
Care
- Post-Match Cleaning: Immediately after each use, wipe off any mud or dirt from the upper and sole with a damp cloth or soft brush. Do not let mud dry on the boots as it can harden and damage the leather.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do NOT use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can crack and damage the leather. Stuffing the boots with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically apply a quality leather conditioner or cream to keep the leather supple and prevent drying or cracking. This is crucial for maintaining the longevity and feel of the premium upper.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and scratches.
- Product Label: Always refer to the specific product label inside the boot for any manufacturer-specific care instructions.
