Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Premier 3 FG boots are ready to use out of the box. Ensure you lace them up securely and comfortably. For leather boots, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them for a few light training sessions before a full match. This allows the leather to soften and mold to the unique shape of your foot, enhancing comfort and fit.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means natural grass pitches that are dry to slightly damp. They are not recommended for:
- Artificial Ground (AG) / Artificial Turf: The stud configuration is not optimized for synthetic surfaces and can lead to excessive stud pressure, discomfort, and accelerated wear.
- Soft Ground (SG): On very wet or muddy pitches, the FG studs may not provide sufficient penetration or grip.
Care
Proper care will significantly extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather football boots.
- Clean After Every Use: Immediately after playing, wipe off excess mud and dirt with a damp cloth or soft brush. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive materials.
- Remove Insole: If very wet, remove the insoles to allow the inside of the boot to air out more effectively.
- Air Dry: Always air dry your boots at room temperature. Never use direct heat sources like radiators, hairdryers, or direct sunlight, as this can dry out and crack the leather.
- Stuff with Paper: Stuff the boots with newspaper or paper towels to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape as they dry.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically, apply a suitable leather conditioner or balm designed for football boots. This keeps the leather supple, prevents cracking, and maintains its water resistance. Follow the product instructions for application.
- Store Properly: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
