Full details
The ASICS Gel-Cumulus 27 is a premium road running shoe designed for female runners seeking a blend of plush comfort and responsive performance. It is an ideal choice for daily training and long-distance hauls, offering advanced shock absorption through PureGEL technology and FF BLAST PLUS foam. While it excels at providing a smooth, cushioned ride, runners who prefer a firm, minimal ground-feel may find the high-stack foam setup too soft for high-intensity speed work.

FAQs
Is the ASICS Gel-Cumulus 27 suitable for a marathon?
Yes, its combination of FF BLAST PLUS cushioning and shock-absorbing PureGEL makes it an excellent candidate for long-distance training and marathon-distance events.
Does this shoe provide arch support?
The shoe is designed for neutral runners. It provides a balanced platform, but individuals with severe overpronation may benefit from adding their own specialized orthotic insoles.
How often should I replace these running shoes?
Generally, running shoes like the Gel-Cumulus 27 should be replaced every 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and body weight.
Are these shoes water-resistant?
No, the engineered mesh upper is designed for maximum breathability, meaning it will allow water to pass through if you run in heavy rain.
Can I use these for gym workouts?
While excellent for treadmill running and cardio, the high-stack foam is optimized for linear motion. For heavy weightlifting, a flatter, more stable shoe is recommended.
How do I determine if I have the right size?
You should have approximately a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe to account for foot swelling during exercise.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort after a run
Ensure your lacing is not too tight across the midfoot and verify that you are wearing the correct size for your arch shape.
Outsole wearing down prematurely
Check your gait for signs of excessive pronation or supination and ensure you are using these shoes primarily on smooth road surfaces rather than abrasive gravel or trails.
Mesh upper feels stiff
The engineered mesh usually softens within 10 to 20 miles of walking or light jogging as the materials break in to your specific foot shape.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your ASICS Gel-Cumulus 27, it is important to follow proper care protocols. After running, remove the insoles to allow the interior to dry thoroughly if wet, keeping them away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the foam. If the shoes become dirty, spot-clean them with a soft brush and mild soap rather than submerging them in a washing machine, which can compromise the structural integrity of the cushioning units. For compatibility, these trainers are designed for neutral runners looking for daily road footwear; they are fully compatible with custom orthotics if you require specific arch support beyond the stock insole.
