FAQs

Is this jacket waterproof?

It is water-repellent, meaning it is designed to keep the wearer dry in light rain, but it is not classified as fully waterproof for heavy rain.

What material is the jacket made from?

The jacket is constructed from durable polyester fabric with synthetic insulating padding.

Can the hood be removed?

No, the hood on the Lofthouse Padded Jacket is fixed.

How do I choose the right size?

This jacket uses standard UK children's sizing. Refer to the size tag (e.g., 5-6) to ensure the best fit for your child.

Is this suitable for winter?

It is great for autumn and mild winter days. For deep, freezing conditions, you may wish to layer it over a thermal base layer.

Troubleshooting

Water soaking into the fabric during rain

The DWR finish may have worn off; apply a water-repellent spray treatment according to the product instructions.

Padding feels uneven after washing

Gently shake the jacket and tumble dry on a low heat setting with a clean tennis ball to help redistribute the insulation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This jacket is ready to wear immediately upon purchase. For long-lasting performance, we recommend following these care guidelines:

  1. Cleaning: Machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees Celsius to maintain the water-repellent properties.
  2. Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources to prevent the padding from clumping.
  3. Storage: Hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger in a dry, well-ventilated area when not in use to maintain its shape.
  4. Re-treating: If you notice water no longer beads off the surface after extensive use, consider applying a standard DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray to restore its protection.
