Product Information
Full details
The Brooks Ghost 18 is a premier neutral road running shoe designed for adult men who prioritize a soft, consistent, and dependable ride during daily training, easy runs, or casual walking. Its key benefit lies in the nitrogen-infused DNA LOFT v3 cushioning, which ensures excellent shock absorption and smooth transitions, though the shoe is specifically engineered for neutral runners and may not provide the stability features required by those with severe overpronation.

FAQs
Is the Brooks Ghost 18 a stability shoe?
No, the Ghost 18 is a neutral road running shoe designed for runners who do not require extra arch support or pronation control.
Can I use these for trail running?
While the RoadTack rubber is durable, these are optimized for road and pavement; they may lack the aggressive lugs needed for technical trails.
How long should these shoes last?
Generally, running shoes like the Ghost 18 provide optimal support and cushioning for 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and gait.
Does the mesh upper stretch out over time?
The engineered mesh is designed to adapt to your foot, but it is structured to retain its shape and hold throughout the life of the shoe.
Can I replace the insole with my own orthotics?
Yes, the OrthoLite sockliner is removable, making it easy to swap in your preferred custom orthotic insoles.
Troubleshooting
Feeling discomfort or pressure on the top of the foot
Try adjusting your lacing pattern to a 'window lacing' style to relieve pressure points.
Outsole collecting small rocks or debris
Use a dull tool or your fingers to remove debris from the outsole grooves after your run to maintain proper traction.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptionally soft and comfortable cushioning
- Breathable and adaptive upper mesh
- Highly durable outsole material
- Versatile design suitable for running or walking
- Reliable, consistent ride quality
Cons
- Best suited for neutral runners only
- Limited stability features for overpronators
- Primary focus on road surfaces rather than trail
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best performance, choose your standard athletic shoe size as the Ghost 18 features an adaptable mesh that accommodates most foot widths. Always ensure your laces are pulled evenly to maintain the integrity of the secure lockdown.
Care Instructions:
- Keep the shoes away from high-heat sources like radiators or dryers, which can degrade the cushioning foam.
- Clean off mud or debris after runs using a soft brush and lukewarm water.
- Remove the OrthoLite sockliner occasionally to allow it to air dry fully.
- Rotate your shoes with another pair to allow the foam to decompress between runs, extending the overall lifespan of the cushioning.
