Cuprinol Garden Shades in Wild Thyme is an ideal choice for homeowners looking to protect and beautify their exterior structures like sheds, fences, and garden furniture. This water-based, matt finish paint provides a rich color that allows the natural woodgrain to remain visible while offering weatherproofing for up to six years. While it is versatile enough to be used on terracotta, brick, and stone, users should note that it is not suitable for decking, and surface preparation is key to achieving a long-lasting, uniform result.

No, Cuprinol Garden Shades is not formulated for the high-traffic conditions of decking and should not be used on those surfaces.
You should allow at least 8 hours for the first coat to dry before applying the second.
Once the paint is completely dry, it is believed to be safe for wood that pets or birds may come into contact with or gnaw.
A minimum of two coats is required to achieve the full protective and aesthetic benefits of the paint.
A 5L container typically covers up to 12m² per liter depending on the surface porosity.
Do not pour paint down the drain. Take any leftover product to a local Community RePaint collection point.
This often occurs due to poor surface preparation. Ensure all loose, old paint is sanded back to bare wood and the surface is clean and dry before recoating.
The final color can vary based on the surface porosity and the number of coats applied. Ensure you apply an even number of coats across the entire project.
Cover nearby surfaces with drop sheets and ensure you are working in calm weather conditions to prevent wind from carrying paint particles.
Before starting, ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of loose debris. If applying over previously painted wood, sand away any flaking or peeling material to create a sound substrate. Always test a small, hidden area to ensure color preference and surface adhesion.
