The Trespass Willsons Softshell Jacket is an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and walkers who require a reliable balance of weather protection and freedom of movement. Its standout benefit is the combination of an 8000mm waterproof rating and high breathability, ensuring you stay dry without overheating during active use. The main caveat to consider is that while it offers robust softshell protection, it is primarily designed as a technical layer rather than an insulated heavy-duty winter parka.

It features an 8000mm waterproof rating, making it highly water-resistant, though it is not a fully seam-sealed emergency shell for torrential rain.
Yes, it is suitable for winter wear when paired with appropriate insulating layers like a fleece or thermal base layer.
The jacket features a grown-on, adjustable hood with toggles or fasteners to ensure a secure fit against the wind.
It refers to the amount of water vapor that can pass through the fabric per square meter in 24 hours, ensuring you stay comfortable while sweating.
Yes, the fabric is specifically designed to block wind and protect you from harsh, chilly conditions.
Wash it on a gentle cycle with a specialized technical fabric cleaner and air dry to maintain the membrane's functionality.
The Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating may have worn off. Apply a technical re-proofing spray to restore the water-beading effect.
Ensure you are not wearing too many insulating layers underneath. The breathability rating works best when there is effective moisture transport from your base layer.
For optimal performance, this jacket works best as part of a layering system. Pair it with a moisture-wicking base layer and a mid-layer fleece if temperatures drop, as the Willsons jacket is designed for wind and water resistance rather than heavy thermal insulation.
To care for your garment, wash on a gentle cycle with a technical detergent suitable for waterproof fabrics to maintain the integrity of the TPU membrane. Avoid using heavy fabric softeners, as these can clog the pores of the breathable fabric. Hang dry in a well-ventilated area, avoiding direct heat sources like radiators to prevent damage to the material.
