The Trespass Willsons Softshell Jacket is designed for active adults, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts who require a balance of weather protection and breathability. Its key win is the combination of a high-performance TPU membrane and an 8000mm waterproof rating, providing reliable defense against wind and light rain without sacrificing mobility. A notable caveat is that while it is highly water-resistant, it is a softshell garment, meaning it may not provide the same level of full-storm protection as a heavy-duty hardshell rain jacket.

It features an 8000mm waterproof rating, making it highly water-resistant for hiking and light-to-moderate rain. It is not considered fully waterproof in the same way a seam-sealed hardshell jacket is.
Yes, but you should use a cool wash cycle with a technical detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
Yes, the jacket includes functional pockets suitable for storing small hiking essentials like a compass, map, or keys.
No, the jacket features a grown-on (fixed) hood designed to be adjusted for a custom fit.
Hang the jacket to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators or open flames.
The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating may have worn off. Re-apply a spray-on or wash-in DWR treatment to restore the water-beading performance.
Check your layering system. Ensure your base layer is moisture-wicking rather than cotton. If you are working too hard, adjust your zip to increase airflow.
To ensure the longevity of the jacket's waterproof properties, proper maintenance is essential. Always wash the garment on a cool cycle, ideally using a technical fabric cleaner designed for outdoor apparel. Avoid using biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can clog the pores of the TPU membrane and degrade breathability. When storing, ensure the jacket is completely dry to prevent mildew. Because the fit is designed for mobility, it pairs perfectly with a moisture-wicking base layer and a thermal mid-layer on colder days, allowing you to adapt to changing temperatures through a modular layering system.
