The adidas Handball Spezial trainers are an iconic choice for adults seeking a blend of vintage 1979 aesthetic and modern daily comfort. Designed originally for elite handball players, these suede trainers provide excellent traction and support for casual wear; however, because they feature a soft suede upper, they are best suited for dry weather conditions rather than muddy or wet environments.

No, the suede upper is naturally porous and will absorb water. It is recommended to use a suede protector spray.
While originally designed for handball, modern handball requires more advanced lateral support and specialized materials. These are best used as lifestyle trainers.
Wipe the rubber edges with a damp cloth and mild soap to maintain the clean contrast finish.
Yes, they generally fit true to standard UK sizes, though the suede may feel snug initially.
The OrthoLite liner provides long-term cushioning, high-level breathability, and moisture management.
Yes, the product is constructed using genuine suede material.
Use a specialized suede brush to lift the nap and remove trapped dirt particles.
Apply a dedicated suede cleaning eraser to gently lift the spot; avoid liquid cleaners unless labeled specifically for suede.
The suede will naturally stretch slightly with wear. If it is too uncomfortable, try using a thinner sock or a dedicated shoe stretcher.
For the best experience, ensure you have selected your correct UK size, as the suede material provides a snug, structured fit. To maintain the life of your trainers, it is highly recommended to apply a suede-specific water and stain repellent spray before their first wear. If they become dirty, use a soft-bristled suede brush to gently remove surface dust and dirt in the direction of the grain. Avoid submerging these shoes in water or putting them in a washing machine, as moisture can permanently damage the suede texture and compromise the adhesive integrity of the gum outsole.
