The adidas Handball Spezial is an iconic trainer designed for adults who appreciate a blend of vintage aesthetic and everyday comfort. Originally engineered for elite handball players in 1979, these shoes offer a durable suede construction and a signature gum rubber outsole, making them a versatile choice for casual streetwear; however, potential buyers should note that the suede material requires careful maintenance to protect it from moisture and harsh weather.

The Handball Spezial follows standard sizing guidelines for a regular fit. If you prefer a looser feel, some users opt for a half-size up.
No, machine washing can permanently damage the suede and the adhesives holding the sole. Always clean by hand.
No, the suede is not waterproof. It is recommended to use a protective suede spray to provide a barrier against minor moisture.
The upper is constructed from premium suede, providing a soft touch and distinct vintage look.
While originally designed for handball, modern specialized court shoes offer more advanced support for high-intensity athletics. These are best used for lifestyle and casual wear.
You can wipe the gum rubber outsole with a damp cloth and mild soap to keep it clean and maintain its grip.
Use a dry, soft-bristled suede brush to gently lift dirt in the direction of the nap.
This is a natural occurrence with suede trainers; using cedar shoe trees when not in use can help maintain the shape.
These trainers feature a standard regular fit and a secure lace-up closure. To ensure longevity, avoid wearing the suede exterior in wet or muddy conditions, as water can stain and damage the texture. If the shoes become dirty, use a soft-bristled brush specifically designed for suede to gently remove debris. For deeper cleaning, utilize a professional suede cleaner or an eraser kit. Always allow them to air dry away from direct heat sources like radiators, as excessive heat can cause the material to stiffen or warp.
