The HOKA Mafate Speed 2 is designed for adult trail runners and hikers who require exceptional support and cushioning over technical terrain. Its primary benefit is the combination of a stable Active Foot frame and a high-traction Vibram Mega-Grip outsole, making it ideal for long-distance adventures; however, users should note that its specialized design is tuned specifically for rugged trails rather than flat, paved surfaces.

While wearable on roads, the outsole is designed for technical trails. Extended use on pavement may wear down the soft rubber lugs prematurely.
No, machine washing can damage the structural integrity and the adhesives used in the construction. Clean by hand with warm water.
The Vibram Mega-Grip outsole features a 5mm lug depth for high-level traction.
Yes, the Active Foot frame is designed to provide comprehensive support and stability throughout the foot strike.
These shoes are designed for breathability and drainage on the trail; they do not feature a waterproof membrane.
Yes, the factory insoles are removable and can be replaced with custom orthotics if preferred.
Try a 'runner's loop' lacing technique to better lock the heel into the Active Foot frame.
Use a stiff-bristled brush to clear the flex grooves after every trail session to maintain traction.
To ensure the longevity of your Mafate Speed 2 trainers, ensure you have selected the correct UK size for your foot shape. If using custom orthotics, the stock insole is removable to accommodate your specific inserts. For cleaning, remove excess mud and debris after each use with a soft brush. If the shoes become soaked, remove the insoles and stuff the interior with paper to absorb moisture, allowing them to air dry away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the cushioning foam.
