Setup
While running shoes don't require complex setup, proper lacing is crucial for optimal fit and performance. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find what best secures your foot without creating pressure points. Ensure your socks are appropriate for trail running, offering cushioning and moisture-wicking properties to prevent blisters.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed for trail running and are compatible with standard trail running apparel. Consider using gaiters for extra protection against debris on very loose or sandy trails. They perform best with technical running socks that complement their cushioning and support.
Care
To maximize the lifespan of your HOKA ONE ONE Mafate Speed 2:
- Cleaning: After each run, especially in muddy conditions, gently brush off loose dirt. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Avoid machine washing, which can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight, tumble dryer) as this can warp materials and degrade adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing them in plastic bags as this can trap moisture.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the outsole for excessive wear on the lugs, which can reduce grip. Check the upper for any tears or damage that might compromise performance.
