FAQs

Is the hood removable?

No, the Lofthouse jacket features a fixed, 'grown-on' elasticated hood designed for maximum protection and convenience.

Can this jacket be worn in heavy snow?

It is designed for moderate winter conditions; it provides warmth and some water resistance, but it is not a waterproof snow coat.

Is the jacket machine washable?

Yes, it can be machine washed on a gentle cycle. Always check the internal care label for specific temperature settings.

Does the reflective trim work in total darkness?

The reflective trims are designed to catch light from external sources, such as car headlights, to make the wearer more visible at night.

Is this jacket unisex?

Yes, the styling and fit of the Regatta Lofthouse jacket are designed to be suitable for all children.

Troubleshooting

Water soaking into the fabric instead of beading off

The water-repellent finish may need reactivating. Wash the jacket and follow with a professional-grade DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray treatment.

Insulation feels flat after washing

Tumble dry the jacket on low heat with a pair of clean tennis balls to help fluff the padding back into place.

Pros and Cons

Water-repellent finish handles light showers well
Reflective detailing enhances safety in the dark

Lightweight construction allows for comfortable movement

Cons

Not intended for heavy, prolonged rain exposure
Limited to moderate winter temperatures
Padding may lose some loft if washed improperly

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maintain the water-repellent finish and the integrity of the insulating padding, follow these care instructions:

Cleaning: Machine wash on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can damage the water-repellent coating.
Drying: Air dry whenever possible. If using a dryer, choose a low-heat, delicate setting to prevent the synthetic padding from melting or clumping.
Storage: Hang the jacket on a sturdy hanger in a dry, well-ventilated area to maintain its shape.
Compatibility: The jacket features a standard fit designed to be worn over light base layers or school uniforms without feeling overly tight.
