Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Ultra Ultimate boots is straightforward. The low-cut slip-on construction allows for easy entry. Simply slide your foot in, ensure the boot fits snugly around your foot, and tie the laces securely to achieve optimal lockdown. The lightweight removable sockliner with NanoGrip should be kept in place for maximum benefit.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designated as FG (Firm Ground). This means they are designed for use on natural grass pitches that are firm and dry. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or very hard surfaces is not recommended as it can compromise traction, damage the studs, and potentially void any warranty. The fit is described as regular to narrow, so players with wider feet might need to consider sizing up or trying them on carefully.
Care
Maintaining your Puma Ultra Ultimate FG boots will prolong their life and performance:
- Clean After Each Use: After every match or training session, remove excess dirt and mud from the upper and outsole. A soft brush or damp cloth is ideal. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Air Dry: Do not dry your boots in direct sunlight or using artificial heat sources (like radiators), as this can damage the materials. Instead, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and maintain shape, then allow them to air dry at room temperature.
- Store Properly: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from extreme temperatures.
- Inspect Regularly: Periodically check the studs for wear and tear. While the recycled materials in the upper are durable, regular inspection can help catch minor issues before they become major problems.
- Sockliner Care: The removable NanoGrip sockliner can be hand-washed gently if needed, then air-dried.
