Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
To ensure your Puma Ultra 5 Ultimate FG boots perform optimally and last longer, follow these guidelines:
Setup
- Lacing: Despite the low-cut slip-on construction, properly lacing your boots is crucial. Ensure laces are snug but not overly tight, securing your foot without causing discomfort. Experiment with different lacing patterns to find the best lockdown for your foot shape.
- Break-in Period: Wear your new boots for short training sessions or light activities before a full match. This allows the lightweight mesh upper and internal components to mold to your unique foot shape, enhancing comfort and preventing blisters.
Compatibility
- Pitch Type: These boots are exclusively designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This refers to natural grass surfaces that are dry and firm. Using them on artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or extremely hard ground can lead to premature stud wear, damage to the soleplate, and reduced performance. Always match your boots to the playing surface.
- Foot Fit: The Puma Ultra 5 Ultimate FG features a 'Regular to narrow fit'. If you have wider feet, you might find them snug. It's recommended to try them on to ensure a comfortable and secure fit that won't cause pressure points during play.
Care
- Cleaning: After every use, gently brush off any loose dirt, mud, or grass from the upper and soleplate. Use a damp cloth with a mild soap solution to wipe down the exterior. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the boot's finish or materials.
- Drying: Always air dry your boots naturally at room temperature. Never place them on direct heat sources like radiators, in direct sunlight, or use a hairdryer. Excessive heat can cause materials to shrink, crack, or delaminate.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag or box to protect them from dust and damage. Inserting shoe trees can help maintain their original shape and absorb moisture.
- Sockliner Care: The removable sockliner with NanoGrip technology can be removed and hand-washed separately with mild soap and water if it becomes soiled. Ensure it is completely dry before reinserting it into the boot.
