Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
For the best results, thorough surface preparation is essential:
- Clean: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, and loose or flaking paint. Use a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly, allowing the surface to dry completely.
- Fill: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler, then sand smooth once dry.
- Sand: Lightly sand previously painted gloss surfaces to provide a key for the new paint. For bare wood, sand to a smooth finish.
- Prime: For bare wood, new plaster, or highly absorbent surfaces, apply a suitable primer/undercoat or a diluted first coat of this paint (check product label for specific priming instructions). This ensures even absorption and optimal adhesion.
Application Instructions
- Stir: Stir the paint thoroughly before use and periodically during application to ensure uniform colour and consistency.
- Apply: Use a good quality synthetic brush for cutting in edges and intricate areas, and a short-pile roller for larger wall and wood surfaces.
- Coats: Apply in thin, even coats. Avoid overspreading or applying too thickly, as this can affect drying and finish.
- Drying Time: Allow sufficient drying time between coats. Typically, this paint is touch dry within 1-2 hours and recoatable after 2-4 hours. Always refer to the specific drying times on the product tin.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in the room during painting and drying.
Compatibility
This Crown Crafted paint is specifically formulated for:
- Interior Walls: Suitable for plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted walls.

Cleaning & Care
Once the paint is fully cured (which can take several days to a week, depending on conditions), you can clean painted surfaces gently:
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth using plain water or a very mild, non-abrasive detergent.
- Avoid harsh scrubbing, abrasive cleaners, or strong chemicals, as these can damage the delicate matt finish and alter the appearance of the paint.
