FAQs
How do I clean my Salomon XT-6 shoes?
Remove loose dirt with a soft brush. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Avoid machine washing or using harsh chemical cleaners, and always air dry at room temperature away from direct heat.
Are the Salomon XT-6 shoes waterproof?
The Salomon XT-6 features textile and synthetic uppers with TPU film for durability and some resistance to light moisture, but they are not fully waterproof. For wet conditions, consider Salomon models with a GORE-TEX membrane.
What is the heel drop of the XT-6?
The Salomon XT-6 has a 10mm heel drop, which is a moderate drop suitable for various foot strikes and provides a balance of cushioning and ground feel.
Can I replace the Quicklace® system if it breaks?
Yes, Salomon offers Quicklace® repair kits. You can usually find these through authorized retailers or the official Salomon website. Refer to the instructions provided with the kit for replacement.
Are these shoes suitable for everyday wear?
Absolutely. While designed for performance, the Salomon XT-6's comfort, durability, and distinctive style make it a popular and excellent choice for everyday casual wear, offering support and cushioning throughout your day.
How do I ensure the correct sizing?
It is recommended to try on the shoes if possible. Salomon sizing is generally consistent, but individual foot shapes vary. Wear the type of socks you'd typically use with the shoes and ensure there's about a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
Troubleshooting
Quicklace® feels too tight or too loose during activity.
Adjust the Quicklace® system using the stopper. Press the button to release tension, or pull the cord to tighten, then secure the stopper. Ensure the laces are evenly distributed across the foot before tightening fully.
Foot slippage or rubbing inside the shoe.
Ensure you are wearing appropriate athletic socks. Re-tighten the Quicklace® system for a more secure fit, making sure the OrthoLite sockliner is flat and properly seated. If the issue persists, consider trying different lacing patterns or checking your size.
Reduced grip on wet or loose surfaces.
Clean the Contagrip® outsole thoroughly to remove any embedded debris that might be impacting traction. If the lugs are excessively worn, it may be time to consider replacing the shoes for optimal safety and performance.

Quicklace® System Use:
- To Tighten: Pull the thin cord upwards until the shoe feels snug. Slide the stopper down towards the shoe to secure the fit.
- To Loosen: Press the button on the stopper and pull the stopper away from the shoe, then gently pull the top of the tongue or laces upwards.
- Stowing Laces: Tuck the excess lace and stopper into the lace pocket located on the tongue to prevent snagging.

Care
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Salomon XT-6 shoes, follow these care instructions:
- Cleaning: After use, especially on muddy or dusty trails, clean your shoes. Remove loose dirt with a soft brush. For stubborn dirt, use a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight) as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent odor and mildew.
- Insoles: Remove the OrthoLite sockliners periodically for airing and cleaning to maintain freshness.
- Inspection: Regularly check the Quicklace® system for wear and tear. While durable, components can be replaced if needed.
