Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
To prepare your Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Club boots for use, simply lace them up to achieve a snug, comfortable fit. Ensure the laces are securely tied to prevent them from loosening during play, which helps maintain optimal foot lockdown and support. Take a few moments to walk around and ensure there are no pressure points before stepping onto the pitch.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches, which refers to natural grass surfaces, and are also suitable for Artificial Grass (AG) surfaces. The moulded stud configuration provides the necessary traction for both types of fields. To maximize the lifespan and performance of your boots, avoid using them on indoor courts, concrete, or extremely hard/abrasive surfaces, as this can cause premature wear to the soleplate and studs.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off any dirt, mud, or debris from the upper and soleplate using a damp cloth. For stubborn mud, a soft brush can be used on the studs. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag to protect them during transport.
- Maintenance: Periodically remove the insoles to air them out, which helps prevent odor and keeps the interior fresh.
