FAQs
What surfaces are these football shoes suitable for?
These adidas F50 Club TF shoes are specifically designed for artificial Turf (TF) surfaces. Their low-profile rubber outsole provides optimal grip and performance on these types of pitches.
Are these shoes suitable for natural grass fields?
No, these shoes are not recommended for natural grass. The TF outsole is designed differently from Firm Ground (FG) or Soft Ground (SG) studs and may not provide adequate grip or could wear out faster on natural grass.
How do I choose the correct size for my child?
It's best to measure your child's foot and compare it to the adidas size chart. Kids' feet grow quickly, so regular measurement is important. Allow for a small amount of room for growth, but not so much that the shoe is unstable.
Can these shoes be washed in a machine?
Machine washing is not recommended as it can damage the materials and adhesives. We advise cleaning them manually with a damp cloth, mild soap, and a soft brush, then allowing them to air dry.
What does 'Made with at least 20% recycled materials' mean?
This means that at least 20% of the materials used in the construction of these shoes are recycled content. This is part of adidas's commitment to reducing waste and its environmental impact.
Is the tongue fixed or adjustable?
The F50 Club TF features a 'floating tongue,' which means it is not fully attached on the sides. This design allows for better adjustability and ventilation for varied foot shapes.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel too tight or uncomfortable during play.
Ensure the laces are not overtightened; try re-lacing them for a more even pressure distribution. The synthetic upper may require a few wear sessions to break in. If discomfort persists, check if the size is appropriate – growing feet may need a larger size.
Lack of grip or slipping on artificial turf.
Verify that the playing surface is indeed artificial turf, as these shoes are optimized for TF. Ensure the outsole is clean and free from mud or debris that could reduce traction. Check for excessive wear on the rubber nubs of the outsole, which might indicate it's time for a new pair.
Foot feels hot or sweaty.
The F50 Club TF features a perforated floating tongue for breathability. Ensure your socks are made of moisture-wicking material. After play, remove insoles to air out shoes completely and consider using shoe deodorizers.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptional Speed: Built for maximum acceleration and quick bursts of pace on the pitch.
- Superior Turf Traction: Rubber outsole provides reliable grip and control specifically on artificial turf.
- Stable Footing: External heel counter enhances stability during dynamic movements.
- Comfortable & Lightweight: Streamlined synthetic upper and ankle padding ensure comfort without added bulk.
- Eco-Conscious Choice: Incorporates recycled materials, making it a more sustainable option.
- Breathability: Perforated tongue helps keep feet cool during intense play.
Cons
- Surface Specific: Primarily designed for artificial turf (TF), may not perform optimally on natural grass or indoor courts.
- Club Level: While high-performing, these are 'Club' level shoes, meaning advanced players might seek higher-tier professional models for marginal performance gains. > Info needed: [Confirm if 'Club' implies a specific performance tier or is purely a naming convention.]
- Sizing for Kids: As with all kids' footwear, frequent sizing checks are needed due to rapid growth.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The adidas F50 Club TF shoes feature a traditional lace closure system.
- Unlace the shoes fully to create enough room for the foot.
- Insert the foot, ensuring the heel sits snugly against the back of the shoe.
- Adjust the floating tongue for optimal comfort over the top of the foot.
- Lace up the shoes, starting from the bottom eyelets, and gradually tighten them to achieve a secure yet comfortable fit. Avoid over-tightening, which can cause discomfort, or under-tightening, which can lead to instability.
- Double-knot the laces to prevent them from coming undone during play.
Compatibility
These football shoes are specifically designed for Turf (TF) surfaces. This includes artificial grass pitches with shorter blades and rubber infill. The non-marking rubber outsole is optimized for these surfaces, providing excellent traction and durability without damaging the playing area. They are not recommended for natural grass (FG), soft ground (SG), or indoor court (IC) surfaces, as performance and durability may be compromised.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your F50 Club TF shoes:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off any dirt or debris with a damp cloth. For more stubborn dirt, use a soft brush and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight or use artificial heat sources (like a radiator or hairdryer), as this can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider stuffing them with newspaper to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Odour Control: If odours develop, use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside and let it sit overnight.
- Inspection: Regularly check the laces for wear and the outsole for signs of excessive wear or damage.
