Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely, utilizing all eyelets and hooks. A snug fit around the ankle is key for maximum support and to prevent movement that can cause blisters. Adjust lacing throughout your walk if needed.
- Socks: Wear appropriate hiking socks (wool or synthetic) that wick moisture away from your feet to complement the boots' breathable properties and enhance comfort.
Compatibility
These boots are primarily designed for:
- Hiking and Trekking: Suitable for varied terrain, from well-maintained trails to more challenging, rugged paths.
- Countryside Walks: Ideal for general outdoor use where waterproofing and support are beneficial.
- All-Weather Conditions: Excellent in wet or damp environments due to their waterproof membrane.
Care
- Cleaning: After use, remove loose dirt and mud by gently brushing or wiping with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use mild soap and water. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not force dry them with direct heat (e.g., radiators, hairdryers), as this can damage materials and waterproofing.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: Periodically, you may need to re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment to the outer fabric to maintain its water-shedding properties. Follow the instructions of the DWR product. The internal Isotex membrane remains waterproof.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
