Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure laces are tied securely but not overly tight. A snug fit prevents rubbing and provides optimal ankle support from the mid-height design. Double knotting can help prevent laces from coming undone during active play.
- Socks: Pair these boots with appropriate hiking or moisture-wicking socks. This will maximize breathability and comfort, while also helping to prevent blisters.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for junior outdoor enthusiasts. They are perfectly suited for:
- Walking and Light Hiking: Ideal for trails, parks, countryside paths, and general outdoor exploration.
- Outdoor Play: Durable enough for active play in various environments, including grass, mud, and uneven ground.
- Wet Weather: An excellent choice for rainy days, dewy mornings, or damp conditions due to their waterproof construction.
They are *not* intended for extreme mountaineering, highly technical climbing, or heavy-duty industrial use.
Care
Proper care will extend the lifespan and maintain the performance of your child's boots.
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and mud with a soft brush or damp cloth. For more stubborn dirt, use a mild soap and water solution, avoiding harsh detergents. Rinse gently.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do *not* place them near direct heat sources (like radiators, fireplaces, or in direct sunlight) as this can damage the waterproof membrane and synthetic materials. You can loosely stuff them with newspaper to help absorb internal moisture and maintain their shape.
- Waterproofing: Over time, the factory-applied outer water-repellent treatment (DWR) may wear off. If water starts to soak into the outer fabric, consider applying a suitable footwear re-proofer spray specifically designed for synthetic waterproof materials. Always follow the product instructions carefully.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
