FAQs
Are the Saucony Ride Tr3 Gtx shoes fully waterproof?
These shoes feature Gtx technology which is water-resistant, making them ideal for rain and wet terrain, though they are not intended to be submerged in deep water.
Can I use these for heavy trail running?
They are designed for trainers and light trail use; while they provide good traction, they may not offer the same protection as dedicated heavy-duty mountain trail shoes.
How do I ensure the correct fit?
Measure your feet in the afternoon when they are at their largest, and ensure there is roughly a thumbnail's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the shoe.
How often should I clean the exterior?
Clean them whenever dirt or mud accumulates to maintain the breathability of the upper and protect the waterproof membrane.
Are these shoes suitable for all-day wear?
Yes, they are engineered for daily activity with a supportive midsole designed to keep you comfortable throughout the day.
Troubleshooting
Water penetrating the shoe
Ensure the laces are tied snugly and check for any visible tears in the upper fabric; deep water submersion will bypass the waterproof barrier.
Discomfort or uneven fit
Verify you are wearing the correct UK size and check that the tongue is centered; if pain persists, consider using an aftermarket supportive insole.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent water-resistant Gtx construction
- Durable build quality for long-term use
- Versatile black aesthetic fits most styles
- Reliable support for daily physical activities
Cons
- The Gtx membrane may reduce overall breathability in hot conditions
- Slightly heavier than non-Gtx racing models
- Limited color variety in this specific series
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Saucony Ride Tr3 Gtx trainers, verify you have selected the correct UK sizing, as proper fit is essential for the shoe's support mechanisms to function correctly. After use in muddy or wet conditions, remove dirt using a soft-bristle brush. To clean, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid submerging in water or using harsh detergents. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, as excessive heat can damage the Gtx waterproof membrane.
