Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before beginning your project, ensure the wood surface is sanded smooth and free of any dust, wax, or previous varnishes, as these will block the dye from penetrating. Stir the dye thoroughly before and during use to ensure the pigments remain evenly suspended. Apply the dye using a high-quality brush or sponge, moving with the grain to achieve an even appearance. For maintenance, avoid using harsh chemical cleaners; a soft, damp cloth is generally sufficient to clean finished surfaces. If you are applying multiple coats to darken the shade, allow for adequate drying time between layers to prevent streaks.
