Product Information
Full details
The ASICS GEL-1130 trainers are designed for adults seeking a versatile, heritage-inspired sneaker that bridges the gap between stability performance and modern street style. Drawing from the iconic GEL-KAYANO 14 lineage, these shoes offer exceptional day-long comfort through advanced heel cushioning; however, prospective buyers should note that the leather-integrated construction provides a structured fit that may require a brief break-in period compared to pure mesh alternatives.

FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
While based on a 2008 stability runner, this version is specifically reimagined for lifestyle and casual daily wear.
How do I determine my size?
These trainers follow standard UK sizing; choose the size you typically wear in other ASICS performance or casual footwear.
Are the GEL-1130s unisex?
Yes, these are designed as unisex trainers, suitable for any adult regardless of gender.
Can I replace the insoles?
Yes, the insoles are removable if you need to insert personal orthotics.
What is the primary material used?
The upper incorporates leather and synthetic overlays to provide a balance of structure, support, and classic aesthetic.
Troubleshooting
The leather feels stiff after first wear
Wear the shoes for short intervals indoors for a few days to allow the leather to naturally conform to your foot shape.
Surface dirt on the leather panels
Use a damp (not soaking) soft cloth with mild soap, then allow to air dry naturally away from heat sources.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Proven stability support inspired by long-standing technical pedigree
- Excellent heel comfort for extended daily wear
- Classic 2000s-era aesthetic that remains relevant in modern fashion
- Sturdy leather construction adds to the shoe's longevity
Cons
- Leather elements may feel stiffer initially compared to fabric-only trainers
- Design is heritage-focused and may not suit users looking for ultra-minimalist styles
- Requires careful cleaning due to the mix of materials
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your GEL-1130 trainers, regular maintenance is recommended. Since the construction features leather, avoid submerging the shoes in water or placing them in a washing machine, as this can damage the material integrity.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth or a specialized leather cleaner to wipe away dust and debris.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the leather and GEL components from degrading.
- Compatibility: The sizing is consistent with standard UK adult footwear. If you prefer thicker socks, ensure you account for the structured fit of the leather overlays.
