FAQs
Is the Saucony Ride 19 suitable for marathon training?
Yes, its balance of weight and cushioning makes it a great choice for the high-mileage demands of marathon training.
Can I put these shoes in the washing machine?
No, machine washing can damage the structural integrity and the responsive properties of the foam. Always hand wash.
What is the primary difference between the Ride 19 and previous models?
The Ride 19 is designed to be lighter, softer, and more responsive than its predecessors, offering a more modern, energetic feel.
Does this shoe provide arch support?
The Ride 19 is a neutral trainer, meaning it provides standard support for runners who do not require significant corrective stability features.
How often should I replace my Ride 19 trainers?
Generally, running shoes should be replaced every 300 to 500 miles, depending on your running surface and gait.
Troubleshooting
Feeling pressure points on the top of the foot
Try adjusting the lacing pattern to a 'window lacing' or 'parallel lacing' style to relieve pressure.
Midsole foam feels stiff in cold temperatures
This is common with high-performance foams; allow the shoes to reach room temperature before your run to restore original flexibility.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Significantly lighter than previous iterations
- Highly versatile for both slow and fast runs
- Excellent energy return from the midsole
- Smooth ride quality for daily mileage
Cons
- Limited to specific colorways like Brown and Cream
- May feel less cushioned than dedicated recovery shoes
- Requires proper sizing for an optimal fit
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best experience with your Saucony Ride 19, verify your sizing using a standard UK foot measuring tool, as these trainers are designed for a performance-focused fit.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Remove loose dirt with a soft brush after your run. If needed, spot clean the upper with mild soap and cold water; do not submerge.
- Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can degrade the midsole foam.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to maintain the integrity of the adhesive and foam materials.
