Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper preparation and application are crucial for achieving the best results with Crown Crafted Suede Textured Finish Paint.
Setup & Surface Preparation
- Clean the Surface: Ensure walls are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or loose material. Use a sugar soap solution for thorough cleaning.
- Fill & Sand: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth. Remove all sanding dust.
- Prime (Optional but Recommended): For best adhesion and uniform texture, especially on new plaster or significantly contrasting colors, apply a suitable primer or base coat. A good quality wall primer will ensure consistent absorption and help the textured finish develop properly.
- Stir Thoroughly: Before and during use, stir the paint well to ensure the olive stones and pigments are evenly distributed, which is vital for consistent texture.
Application Instructions
- Apply with a brush (a suede effect brush is recommended) in short, random, cross-hatch strokes to achieve the signature suede texture. Avoid rolling as it may not yield the desired effect.
- Apply two coats for optimal depth of color and texture, allowing adequate drying time (typically 2-4 hours) between coats. Do not overwork the paint.
Compatibility
- Interior Walls: This paint is designed specifically for interior wall surfaces.
- Not Recommended For: Floors, exterior surfaces, or areas subject to high moisture and direct water contact like shower enclosures, unless specifically primed and sealed for such environments (Info needed: confirm suitability for high-moisture areas).
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: For general cleaning, gently wipe textured walls with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the delicate textured finish. Spot clean small marks promptly.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation during and after application to aid drying and reduce odor.
- Storage: Store paint in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed.
