Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure laces are tight but comfortable. Start from the bottom and work your way up, pulling evenly to distribute pressure. The knitted collar provides a snug fit around the ankle, so focus on securing the foot's main body.
- Break-In Period: Like most new football boots, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them during light training sessions or walks before competitive matches to allow the materials to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically engineered for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This typically refers to natural grass fields that are dry and hard. Using them on artificial turf (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor surfaces is not recommended as it can compromise performance, durability, and potentially cause injury due to incorrect traction.
Care
Proper care extends the life of your boots and maintains their performance:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, wipe off excess mud and dirt with a damp cloth or soft brush. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdry, as this can damage the synthetic materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. You can stuff them with newspaper to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Refer to Product Label: Always check the specific care instructions provided on the product label for any additional recommendations unique to the Skechers SKX 01 Elite.
