Troubleshooting
My feet feel too warm or sweaty during runs.
While the Jacquard Mesh upper is designed for breathability, consider the type of socks you're wearing. Opt for moisture-wicking synthetic socks designed for running. Ensure your shoes aren't laced too tightly, restricting air circulation. If conditions are extremely hot, this shoe, like most, will retain some heat.
The 'bounce' effect seems less noticeable after a lot of mileage.
Cushioning foam, including FF BLAST MAX, will naturally compress and lose some responsiveness over time and mileage. This is a normal wear-and-tear process. Consider rotating your shoes with another pair or assessing if it's time for a replacement, generally recommended after 300-500 miles depending on running style and body weight.
My shoes feel slippery on wet roads.
The AHAR™ LO Outsole provides enhanced grip, but no sole is entirely slip-proof on all wet surfaces. Always exercise caution when running on wet or slick roads. Reduce your pace and shorten your stride to maintain better control. Ensure the outsole treads are free from embedded debris that might reduce traction.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your ASICS Novablast 5 shoes is straightforward. Simply ensure you select the correct size for a comfortable and secure fit. Lace them up snugly, but not too tightly, to allow for natural foot expansion during your run. Always wear appropriate running socks to enhance comfort and prevent blisters.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed specifically for female runners with a neutral pronation (meaning your foot rolls inward minimally when you run) and are best suited for road running. They are an excellent choice for those seeking a highly cushioned, energetic ride for daily training, long runs, or even faster-paced sessions on asphalt or concrete.
Care Instructions
To maximize the lifespan and maintain the performance of your Novablast 5 shoes, follow these care tips:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe off dirt and mud with a soft brush or damp cloth immediately after your run. For deeper cleaning, remove the insoles and hand wash the shoes with mild soap and cold water. Avoid machine washing or using harsh detergents, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can degrade materials and affect shoe structure.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating between two pairs of shoes. This allows the cushioning foam to decompress and recover between runs, extending the life of each pair.
- Insoles: Remove and air out insoles regularly to prevent odor buildup and maintain freshness.
