Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
Proper preparation is crucial for the best results with textured paint. Ensure your walls are:
- Clean: Free from dust, dirt, grease, and loose material. Wash with a mild detergent solution if necessary, then rinse and allow to dry completely.
- Smooth and Sound: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth. Textured paint can disguise minor imperfections, but major ones will still show through.
- Primed: For best adhesion and a uniform finish, especially on new plaster or previously unpainted surfaces, apply a suitable primer. Allow the primer to dry according to its instructions.
Compatibility
This paint is formulated for interior walls and ceilings. It is generally compatible with plaster, drywall, and previously painted surfaces, provided they are properly prepared.
Application Tips
- Stir Thoroughly: Before and during use, stir the paint well to ensure the texture particles are evenly distributed.
- Tools: Use a good quality brush or a textured roller specifically designed for decorative finishes.
- Working Environment: Apply in a well-ventilated room, avoiding extreme temperatures. Ideal application is between 10°C and 25°C.
- Coverage: A 2.5L tin typically covers up to [Info needed: specify average coverage in m² per liter/tin] square meters per coat, but this can vary depending on surface porosity and application technique.
Care & Maintenance
Once dry, your suede textured walls are generally durable. For cleaning:
- Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth or sponge with plain water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing, which can damage the textured finish.
- Spot Cleaning: Address spills or marks promptly to prevent them from setting into the texture.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation, especially in areas where moisture might accumulate, to maintain the paint's integrity over time.
