Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove your new PUMA Ultra 5 Pro boots from their packaging.
- Try On: Slip them on. Due to the low cut slip-on construction and regular to narrow fit, they should feel snug. Ensure your toes have a small amount of space at the front (about a thumb's width) to prevent discomfort during play.
- Break-In: It's recommended to wear them for a few short sessions (e.g., light training or casual kickabouts) before a full match to allow them to mold to your foot. This helps prevent blisters and discomfort.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed with an FG/AG soleplate, meaning they are compatible with:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm or slightly damp.
- Artificial Ground (AG): Modern artificial turf pitches (3G/4G).
Do NOT use on indoor courts, concrete, or extremely hard/abrasive surfaces as this will damage the studs and outsole prematurely.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Immediately after playing, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Rinse (if needed): If very muddy, gently rinse the outsole under running water. Do not submerge the entire boot.
- Wipe Down: Wipe the lightweight mesh upper and GripControl Pro skin with a damp cloth to clean the surface. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used sparingly.
- Dry Naturally: Stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators), which can damage the materials.
- Store Properly: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a shoe bag can protect them from dust and scuffs.
- Inspect Regularly: Check for any signs of wear, especially on the studs and outsole, to ensure they remain safe and effective for play.
