FAQs

What type of ground are these boots suitable for?

These PUMA Ultra 5 Pro boots are specifically designed for optimal performance on both Firm Ground (FG) and Artificial Ground (AG) pitches.

How does the SPEEDSYSTEM soleplate enhance performance?

The `SPEEDSYSTEM` soleplate, with its `FastTrax` studs and innovative stud configuration, is engineered to provide superior traction, enabling faster acceleration, more efficient braking, and sharper cutting movements on the pitch.

What is PWRTAPE and how does it help?

`PWRTAPE` is an integrated support frame in the boot's upper that provides an ideal balance of agility and stability, crucial for dynamic and rapid changes of direction during play.

Are these boots comfortable for long periods of play?

Yes, they feature a lightweight sockliner with soft heel cushioning designed for irritation-free lockdown and maximum comfort. However, players should be aware of the regular to narrow fit.

Are these boots made with recycled materials?

Yes, the upper of these PUMA Ultra 5 Pro boots is constructed with at least 20% recycled materials, reflecting a step towards more sustainable manufacturing.

How should I clean my PUMA Ultra 5 Pro boots after a game?

After each use, clean off dirt and debris from the upper and soleplate using a damp cloth. A soft brush can be used on the soleplate for stubborn mud. Allow them to air dry naturally, away from direct heat.

Which professional players endorse the Ultra range?

The PUMA Ultra range is endorsed by renowned professional footballers such as Antoine Griezmann, Christian Pulisic, Kingsley Coman, Nikita Parris, and Destiny Udogie.

What does 'FG/AG' mean in the product name?

`FG/AG` stands for Firm Ground/Artificial Ground, indicating that these boots are versatile and engineered to perform effectively on both natural grass pitches (firm ground) and artificial turf surfaces.

Troubleshooting

Boots feel too tight or uncomfortable.

Ensure you have the correct size. The PUMA Ultra 5 Pro features a regular to narrow fit. If discomfort persists after a brief break-in period, consider trying a half size up or a different model designed for a wider fit.

Loss of grip on the pitch.

Thoroughly clean the `SPEEDSYSTEM` soleplate and `FastTrax` studs after each use to remove any accumulated dirt or debris that might be reducing traction. Confirm you are playing on appropriate FG or AG surfaces, as misusing boots on unsuitable ground can affect grip.

Reduced ball control or feel.

Regularly clean the `GripControl Pro` texturing on the upper with a damp cloth to remove any build-up that could hinder friction. Ensure laces are tied securely for optimal lockdown, which contributes to a consistent touch.

Boots feel unstable during quick movements or changes in direction.

Properly secure the laces to ensure the `PWRTAPE` support frame is fully engaged, providing the designed stability. Ensure the boots are fully broken in, as initial stiffness can sometimes impact the feeling of stability.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

These boots feature a low-cut, slip-on construction for easy wearing. To ensure optimal performance and comfort:

  1. Sizing: Select your correct size; note the regular to narrow fit. If uncertain, trying them on or consulting a size guide is recommended.
  2. Lacing: Securely tie the laces to engage the `PWRTAPE` support frame fully, providing the intended balance of agility and stability.
  3. Break-in: While designed for comfort, a short break-in period during light training sessions may help adapt the boots to your feet.

Compatibility

  • Ground Type: Exclusively designed for Firm Ground (FG) and Artificial Ground (AG) pitches. Using them on inappropriate surfaces (e.g., hard ground, indoor) can lead to reduced performance and accelerated wear.
  • Fit: Regular to narrow fit, suitable for adult unisex players.

Care

Proper care will extend the lifespan of your PUMA Ultra 5 Pro boots and maintain their performance:

  1. Cleaning After Use: Immediately after playing, remove excess dirt and mud from the upper and soleplate. Use a soft brush for the soleplate and a damp cloth for the upper, including the `GripControl Pro` texturing.
  2. Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources, which can damage the materials.
  3. Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using a shoe tree or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape.
  4. Avoid Machine Washing: Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the structural integrity and materials.
  5. Info needed: Specific recommendations for cleaning the recycled material upper or any special treatment for the `GripControl Pro` texture beyond general wiping.
