Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your PUMA Ultra 5 PRO FG/AG shoes, first ensure they are the correct size (UK 7.5). Lace them securely, making sure the fit is snug from toe to heel without being uncomfortably tight. It's recommended to 'break in' new soccer shoes by wearing them for a few short training sessions or light activities before a full match to allow them to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) and Artificial Grass (AG) surfaces. This means they are ideal for natural grass pitches that are not excessively wet or muddy, and for all types of synthetic turf fields. Do not use these shoes on indoor courts, concrete, or extremely hard ground, as this can prematurely wear down the studs and damage the soleplate, which is not covered under typical wear and tear.
Care
Proper care will significantly extend the lifespan of your PUMA Ultra 5 PRO FG/AG soccer shoes:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off any mud, dirt, or debris with a damp cloth or soft brush. Avoid using harsh detergents or chemical cleaners, as these can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Allow your shoes to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators or heaters). Direct heat can cause materials to crack or shrink. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Odor Control: Remove insoles after use to air them out separately. Consider using shoe deodorizers or odor absorbers to keep your boots fresh.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place. Using a shoe bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
