Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Try-On: When you first receive your boots, try them on with your preferred football socks. Walk around to assess the fit. They should feel snug but not uncomfortably tight.
- Lacing: Experiment with the lace-up closure to find the optimal tightness that secures your foot without creating pressure points. Ensure laces are tied securely to prevent untying during play.
- Break-in Period: Like most high-performance boots, the Phantom GX 2 Elite AG may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions before a full match to allow them to mold to your feet.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Artificial Grass (AG) surfaces. This includes 3G and 4G pitches. Using them on other surfaces such as natural firm ground (FG) or soft ground (SG) can lead to premature wear of the studs, reduced performance, and potentially increase the risk of injury.
Care
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every session, remove loose dirt and debris. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to clean the upper and soleplate. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Stud Inspection: Regularly check the AG studs for wear or damage. While designed for durability, abrasive surfaces or incorrect use can cause damage.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources (like radiators), as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from scratches and keep them clean between uses.
