Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Skechers Razor Elite FG boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Ensure you lace your boots firmly but not overly tight. The `flat knit yarn closure` is designed for an adaptable fit; adjust to your comfort level, paying attention to the `UThroat` area for a secure midfoot.
- Initial Wear: It's advisable to wear your new boots for a few short sessions before a full match to allow them to break in and mold to your feet. This helps prevent discomfort.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This means natural grass fields that are dry and firm. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or soft ground (SG) may compromise performance, durability, and could increase the risk of injury.
- Sizing: Skechers generally offer a true-to-size fit. Consult the Skechers size guide if unsure.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: After every session, wipe off any dirt, mud, or debris from the upper and soleplate using a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive brushes on the `FitKnit upper`.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag or box, away from extreme temperatures.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never machine wash your football boots, as this can severely damage the materials, structure, and cushioning.
- Stud Inspection: Regularly inspect the `chevron studs` for excessive wear or damage. Worn studs can lead to reduced grip and potential injury.
