Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Skechers Razor Elite FG boots is straightforward:
- Lacing: Loosen the `flat knit yarn closure` thoroughly before attempting to put the boots on. This allows for easier foot entry and helps you achieve a customized, secure fit.
- Foot Entry: Slide your foot into the boot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated against the `anatomical internal heel counter`.
- Tightening: Systematically tighten the laces from the toes upwards, ensuring the `UThroat` provides a snug fit around your midfoot without being overly restrictive. Double-knot for security during play.
Compatibility
These boots are Firm Ground (FG) specific. They are designed and optimized for use on natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp. Using them on artificial turf (AG), hard ground (HG), or extremely wet/muddy soft ground (SG) pitches is not recommended as it can:
- Damage the studs or soleplate.
- Reduce grip and increase the risk of injury.
- Potentially void any product warranty.
Care
Proper care will extend the lifespan and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Use: After every match or training session, wipe off any mud or debris with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Always air dry your boots at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, hairdryers) as this can damage the materials, especially the synthetic leather-feel forefoot and knitted sections.
- Deodorizing: If odors occur, stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and odor, or use boot deodorizers.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Using a boot bag can protect them during transport.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never put your football boots in a washing machine or tumble dryer.
